Book design challenges me to bring together a cover image that will be eye-catching and have the right tone and content while focusing on the audience the publisher and author want to reach. And design isn’t only for covers. That same creativity, paired with an attention to detail, applies to the text of a book — whether or not it includes imagery. Making a book something readers will enjoy demands the choice of margins, font and type density be in balance.
